Anil Shah's career started as a teller in 1991, where he made Rs. 3,500 per month. As if that wasn't insulting enough to his "ivy-leagueish" education from George Washington University and FMS Delhi, he was repeatedly told by friends and family that he was making a mistake. Having been born to diplomat parents but wanting to try something new, he says "People told me it would take ten lifetimes to make the money invested in my education. But I have always wanted to get out of my comfort zone."
